Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

Healing Through Relationship.

AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) believes that like an open wound, the human body is designed to heal itself, including emotionally. AEDP therapy creates a safe place to emotionally process through the therapist’s explicit and implicit authenticity, care, warmth, and guidance. This positive and attuned relationship with your therapist actually alters the brain’s chemical response, leading to enhanced emotion regulation and cognitive function.

With the support of your therapist, you can explore anxieties and defenses that block you from working through true emotional experiences that may feel too overwhelming to face alone. Once these emotions are processed together, clients often feel more clarity, calmness, confidence in self, and compassion for self and others.

AEDP therapists may choose to explore more positive parts of self than only what “needs to change”, and often have clients stay with felt sensations in their body; enhancing the mind-body connection and increasing self awareness.
